United Way of Santa Fe County’s Family, Friends & Neighbors program receives a $125,000 grant from Daniels Fund to support caregivers and families in Santa Fe County.
Santa Fe, NM – United Way of Santa Fe County (UWSFC) is proud to announce the receipt of a $125,000 award from Daniels Fund to continue the innovative Family, Friends & Neighbors Program in Santa Fe County.
Many working parents in Santa Fe County rely on families, friends, and neighbors to care for their children. This program offers regular group and individual opportunities for caregivers to gain valuable knowledge in child development, healthy attachment, and early education, while children have the opportunity to play and develop among their peers.
“The Family, Friends & Neighbors program is innovative because it creates another structure for high-quality early childhood education and is a low-cost way to address the need for infant and toddler care in Santa Fe. Providers feel confident in the quality of care that they offer the children in their charge.” said Katherine Freeman, President & CEO. “The grant received from the Daniels Fund will allow us to continue and expand this wonderful program.”
“The Daniels Fund is committed to supporting efforts to increase the number of children who enter kindergarten ready to learn,” said Linda Childears, President & CEO of the Daniels Fund. “We are pleased to support this program to help children become kindergarten-ready.”
The Daniels Fund, established by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels, is a private charitable foundation dedicated to making life better for the people of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming through its grants program, scholarship program, and ethics initiative.
