The Santa Fe Children’s Project
The Santa Fe Children’s Project (SFCP) is an innovative community development initiative of United Way of Santa Fe County. The SFCP seeks to strengthen families, and the whole community, through an interconnected network of early intervention, education, economic development, and community organizing initiatives. The intent is to create a stronger, more vibrant, healthy community in which children will naturally succeed in school and beyond.
In its initial implementation, the Agua Fria site of the Santa Fe Children’s Project seeks to engage all of the families with young children in a single low-income neighborhood.
Families participate in a wide array of opportunities: social, educational, economic and community development programs that, taken together, can change the academic, social, and economic conditions of the whole neighborhood leading to greatly increased community assets, family strengths, and, ultimately, success for children.
