Too often, the sheer number of
assistance options can be a confusing obstacle, and Santa
Feans don’t get the help they need when they need
it. 2-1-1 Santa Fe™ changes this with an easy-to-remember,
three-digit dialing code that makes it simple for people
to locate food, shelter, employment, healthcare and other
resources.
Professional, bilingual information
and referral specialists answer questions ranging from
basic needs to health concerns, child care to elder care,
job training to affordable housing, and disaster relief
to volunteer opportunities.
How it works
When someone calls 2-1-1, a specialist assess the person’s
needs, helps determine his or her options, and makes a
referral to the appropriate programs or services. Specialists
also may provide culturally appropriate support, intervene
in crisis situations and advocate for the caller when
necessary.
